Final sidewalk work on 13th Street dependent on weather
Update, Jan. 17: The street work for this project on Norman Ave. has been completed and barricades have been removed. The sidewalk work still has barricades around the excavated area. Please use caution if walking around this area. Finish work is dependent on the weather forecast.
Update, Jan. 5: Beginning today (Thursday, Jan. 5) the south side of 13th Street just east of Norman Ave will have parking blocked for a public works crew and heavy equipment to continue a water main extension in the sidewalk area on that block. Water main work is expected to finish on Friday.
Please use caution as workers will have equipment moving in and out of this area.
Update, Dec. 20: The water main extension portion of this project is completed. Final concrete work will depend on the upcoming weather forecast and as crews prepare to respond to inclement weather.
A small portion of the east side of Norman Ave is still barricaded near the intersection with 13th Street.
The Public Works Water Department will begin a water main extension project on the east side of Norman Ave. from 12th to 13th Streets on Monday, Dec. 5. Work is anticipated to take two weeks, depending on weather conditions and other factors.
One traffic lane will remain open on the west side of the block. No parking will be available on the east side in this block while work is completed.
The project will start at the south end of the block and move north. Both traffic lanes may be open on the north or south half of the block during certain parts of this project, however, drivers are reminded to use caution in this area with workers present and limited space for traffic.
