StoryWalk® in Library Park
The Story Walk at Crete Public Library starts at the west library doors in Library Park.
The path through Library Park, on the northwest corner of the library block, has a StoryWalk® where visitors read a featured children's book as they follow marked pedestals with large, laminated book pages. The StoryWalk® starts with the first pages near the west library doors into the park.
Parallel parking is along 16th Street and Grove Ave. The main parking lot for the library is at 1515 Forest Ave. with park access.
Library Park opened in 2020 on the block with the new Crete Public Library and Community Room. The park space includes a play structure, benches, and new landscaping with green space and native plants. A shade pavilion was added in 2021.
