Reserve a Library Room
Library Meeting and Study Rooms
Crete Public Library welcomes the public use of its meeting facilities in keeping with the library’s mission that recognizes its role as a community meeting place. The library encourages the public to reserve and use the common rooms for meetings, programs and private gatherings. Library activities or events will have priority over public requests to use the rooms. Permission to use the meeting rooms does not constitute or imply library endorsement of the aims, policies or activities of any group or organization, or the views expressed during a meeting/event. The following rooms are available for reservations using the link below:
- Friends Children's Program Room
- Kinetic Technology Room - up to 6 people
- UBT meeting room – up to 10 people.
- Nestle Purina Study Room – up to 4 people.
- Teen Study Room – up to 4 people.
Equipment available includes wall-mounted displays, wireless display capability and HDMI input (not in Kinetic Technology Room)
Crete Carrier Community Room - Rental Information
Contact the Parks and Recreation Office or City Hall directly (402.826.4315 or 826.4312) to rent the Community Room.
Located at Crete Public Library, the Crete Carrier Community Room can be rented for events. The room has a total capacity of 150 people and the following available equipment:
- 150 chairs
- 12 round tables - seat 8-10 people
- 32 classroom-style rectangular tables - seat 2-4 people
- audio/visual equipment - projector, screen, podium, and speaker system
- library patron wifi
- catering kitchen and restrooms.
Rental terms:
- Deposit: $350 (cash or card; no checks)
- Fees: (cash or card)
- Weekends and holidays: $150 per day
- Weekdays: $25 per hour or $150 per day
- Audio/visual equipment setup: $50
- Reserve a date: $50, can be credited to deposit/fees; nonrefundable
- Renter must provide adequate liability insurance for the event; at minimum, an occurrence general liability policy in the amount of $1,000,000 that names the City as an additional insured; certificate of insurance must be submitted to the City prior to the scheduled event date.
- events must end by 10:00 p.m. central time and the renters must clean the event space and leave by 11:00 p.m. central time.
- Alcohol - requires additional contract four (4) weeks in advance
- Signed rental contract
Renters pick up the access key the day before or day of event (weekdays only) at the Parks and Recreation Office, Monday-Friday, 8-5 p.m. Keys are returned to City Hall immediately after a rental; the night drop in the Utilities Office dropbox in the drive-thru on the east end of City Hall should be used after business hours.
Current library hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- (Monday-Friday - Drive-thru window opens 8:30 a.m.)
- Saturday - 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
