These volunteers are members of the library advisory board and Friends of the Crete Public Library. In addition, the library has volunteers on a regular basis and many who help with the Summer Reading Program and the Reading with Friends program in July.
Library Advisory Board
The five-member Library Advisory Board participates and counsels the library director in all aspects of the library, including, budgeting, collections, and programming. Current board members are:

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Crete Public Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering an engaged, curious, and enlightened community. We support the library by enhancing its programs, assisting in its mission, and advocating for its continued growth and success.
One of our key initiatives is sponsoring Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the Crete Public School District, which provides children ages 0-5 with a free book in the mail each month from birth until their fifth birthday.
Our work depends on community support. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we welcome donations of all sizes, and every contribution directly benefits library programs, literacy initiatives, and special events. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Library Volunteers
The library benefits from the efforts of volunteers of all ages. In all instances, volunteers will be held to the same standards as paid library staff. Volunteers will be accepted and utilized when a need for such assistance has been determined by the Director. To volunteer, complete and return the Volunteer Form to the library.

- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- (Monday-Friday - Drive-thru window opens 8:30 a.m.)
- Saturday - 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
